This webinar introduces approaches to problem investigation. A plant may experience problems due to an aggressive design or a feed which is out of specification or a particularly problematic foulant or product weakness. The webinar discusses the types of failure modes which may result and the mechanism of failure. The potential remedies are then discussed together with design or operational changes that may be introduced to eliminate future problems. In each case, the influence of format on both the source of the problem and the potential remedy will be explored. The content can be summarised as follows: • Problem investigation and monitoring, failure modes and mechanisms • Pressure spikes and potting problems • Effect of format on problems experienced • Remedy
